My little girl is one!

My little girl is one!

Yesterday was Lucy's birthday, and we had a great time celebrating! Her day was full of family and friends and lots of love, and it was a blessing to her and to us.

It is hard to believe that my little lady has gone from a tiny bundle of joy that came to us in a hospital in Florida on a saturday afternoon to a beautiful, rambunctious, curious, intelligent, mischievous, silly, creative, lovable little one year old who is full of life!

Lucy is growing quickly and doing well. Her one-year doctor's appointment is on thursday, and I am curious to know how much she weighs. At nine months she weighed 15 pounds, and my guess is that she is now close to 18 pounds. She is eating more and more every day, but her favorites still seem to be peaches and cheese. And now maybe chocolate cake and buttercream frosting. Lucy took her first steps on February 4th, and now she is walking all over the place! She isn't talking too much yet, but can say "da" when she wants her Daddy, she says uh-oh when she drops something, and she uses the same word for "yes" and "no!" She occasionally says "mama" (although there might be some confusion with that one because a couple of days ago I said, "can you kiss mama?" and she smiled and leaned down and kissed the dog!). And speaking of kissing, that is Lucy's newest development. She started giving us hugs awhile ago, but now she kisses Daddy, Mommy, and everything in between to show her love and affection. She got some magnetic alphabet letters for her birthday and this morning she kissed the letter "I!"

We are so thankful for our little Lucy and cannot imagine not having her. She has changed our lives so much and we feel so honored and blessed that God chose to bless us with this amazing little girl!
