A 9-month report

Lucy is now 9 months old! She's growing like crazy these days, and 6 days before turning 9 months she finally cut her first tooth! and the second one came a couple of days later, so she now has the beginnings of two little teeth on the bottom.

Every time she has been uncharacteristically fussy since she was four months old I have though it was because she must be teething, but the teeth never came. Last week, she wasn't fussy at all, did not have a fever, and was sleeping 12 hours. I wasn't even looking for teeth and my mother -in-law who was in town for a few days was holding her and said she thought she felt a tooth. Sure enough, there was one! You can kind of see it in the picture below.

She had her 9 month doctor's appointment on monday, and she is a happy, healthy baby. She now weighs 15 lbs, 4 oz (I was guessing 15) and is 27 1/4 inches long. She's close to the 50th% for height and a measly 3rd% for weight. Neither the doctor nor I are concerned about this, however. She is exceeding expectations for development and is clearly a very healthy little girl. Just a tiny one.

She's crawling all over the place and standing with the balancing support of furniture or a mommy or daddy's hand every chance she gets. She's very curious and into everything these days. Her favorite toys seem to be power cords, shoes, and paper. If her lead levels come back high from the horrendous blood test she had to get on Monday (no vaccinations, though, since I declined the flu and h1n1), we'll know she's been eating too much paper! The doctor was very impressed with her attentiveness and alertness and remarked on it several times. This child does not know how to relax in her carseat, she's always straining her head to look all around . . . you can only imagine how she is when she's not constricted by the carseat straps!

We love our little Lucy . . . who is turning into such a big girl!

LOVE the new pictures! What a precious girl! Our little twinnies are barely registering on the weight scale too... 3rd & 5th percentiles at their 2 yr checkup. But then our sweet Lauren is already their weight! at 11 months! And we've done the exact same thing with her! So... to each her own... no worries, maybe you'll just have a petite little lady :)

She is such a cute little peanut! Loved seeing her. Isn't funny how unpredictable kids are! You think you have the reason they are acting a certain way figured out, and then its something completely different. Congrats on the new teeth little Lucy!
